Almonds is a good source of monounsaturated fatty acids for our bodies. They are rich in magnesium, calcium and vitamin E.

I love almond butter. It has a beautifully creamy texture. It’s very easy to make almond butter at home with only 2 ingredients.

– 1  cup raw almonds

– A pinch of Himalayan pink salt

1. Roast the almonds

I like roasting the almonds as it is easier for the stomach to breakdown roasted almonds during the digestion process. Roasted almonds also provide a more crunchy texture than raw almonds.

Preheat the oven to 175 °C. Roast the almonds for about 15  minutes, then let them cool for a few minutes.

If you purchase roasted almonds, you can kip this step.

2. Blend the almonds

Place the roasted nut butter in a food processor, add some Himalayan pink salt and blend for about 1 minute until you get a smooth and creamy texture. I use Bosch MMB54G5S processor.

Transfer the butter to an airtight container.

In winter time, you can store the butter at room temperature for up to a week.

You can spread almond butter on a piece of bread, dip apple slices in the butter or add some teaspoons to your smoothie to increase taste and thickness of the drink.
